Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at tamparowingclub1972@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

NO -- We do NOT offer a "learn to row" program, or rowing lessons --  we’re a club for experienced rowers & scullers -- BUT, the Tampa Athletic Club (TAC) does offer a Learn to Row program!

TAC has a form as well as detailed information on their "Learn to Row" program and club membership. Please go to the link below to get on their mailing list and review information on their program.

Yes, visitors to the Tampa Bay Area may contact us at the email above to coordinate guest rows. We do charge a nominal fee of $20/row for visitors. ALL visitors must execute both the TRC waiver and the Jean Street Shipyard waiver (paper copies available upon arrival).

Please contact the club using the email address above to open a conversation with the board. We will send you a membership application and club waiver to fill out prior to rowing. Once you become a member, you will have UNLIMITED use of club boats, free to schedule or row any time of the day (or night), as many times per week as you'd like!

The club membership period runs from October 1 to September 30. ALL new members pay a one-time new member initiation fee of $100 (no pro-rate) in addition to the annual dues.

Annual dues are as follows:

  • Single Membership: $300 (Quarterly pro-rate for partial year)
  • Family Membership: $400 (Quarterly pro-rate for partial year)
  • Student Membership: $200 (Quarterly pro-rate for partial year)
  • Summer Season (April - September): $200
  • Winter Season (October - March): $200

Information current as of April 15, 2025

  • We have one rack available for a single in our Grotto overflow area with access to the dock and one bottom rack in the main boat storage area.
  • We also have four "top rack" slots open, but these would only be useful for long term storage due to height. Assistance is required to load and unload boats from these top racks.

ALL storage is uncovered, so each member storing a boat should acquire a boat cover to protect from UV.
